VME Model CBD8210 VME to CAMAC Branch Driver

Features

General Description

The CBD8110 is a standard 6U VME board allowing a CAMAC branch (EUR4600) to be driven from VSB. Up to seven CAMAC crates can be directly accessed on the branch highway from a VSB master.

The CBD8210 performs the same functions as the CBD8110, but from the VME Bus.

Those modules provide a complete software compatibility with the CERN recommendation, and allow a direct connection with the CCA2 CAMAC crate controller.

The command mode used is "programmed transfer" which allows simple software with efficient transaction speed for most applications.

Real-time events are handled via a pair of front panel interrupt inputs which are equipped with "ACK" outputs to provide simple interrupt handling.

Software interrupts can also be generated via the Interrupt "ACK" outputs. A manual branch Z switch is located on the front panel. A programmed "BZ" is also available. A branch control signal output (on the front panel), monitors the activity on the branch generated by the CBD boards.

A comprehensive set of LED's displays all the important CAMAC parameters driven by the modules.

A sophisticated Graded LAM handling provides a direct control of interrupts and a fully-vectored GL handling.

Software

Software support for the CBD8110 / CBD8210 is available on CES turn-key systems under OS-9 or Lynx-OS.
