Much of the equipment issued from the PREP equipment pool is previously negotiated for and falls under an agreement (MOU). Equipment requests which do not fall under these agreements may require additional time to process. Typically, equipment requests without an underlying formal agreement will be honored only if doing so does not affect the support of the approved experimental program.
How to request equipment from the Pool
You may either E-mail a request to prep@fnal.gov, complete a paper request form at FCC3W or meet with the Equipment Manager in person to discuss the request. One method we would not suggest is described here. Key information is:
            • Who are you? Phone? E-mail address?
            • What group or experiment will use the equipment?
            • Where will the equipment be located?
            • Date of need? Duration of use?
            • Purpose of equipment request?
            • Quantity and type of equipment being requested?
Mail sent to the prep@fnal.gov will be read by a number of individuals who are qualified to help in the processing the request.  You should then expect an E-mail or phone response either requesting clarification or notification that the equipment is ready for pickup.  The goals are ultimately that you should only have to go to the PREP Service Counter once, and as much paperwork and logistics as possible will be completed before you get there. Note that requests for equipment which are part of an existing agreement or MOU require only minimal information for processing.
Online Equipment Request Form

This form allows the user to request equipment on-line and then automatically e-mail the request to prep@fnal.gov. Follow instructions on the form.
